Each participant keeps MP3 files on their own computer. Kraken shares the library with the group, while the host sends audio to Discord.

HOW IT WORKS
Set up once.
Host when you want.
A step-by-step guide is built into the app in Portuguese and English. Settings are saved for your next session.
The computer running the coordinator must stay online. To play a file, the computer that owns it must also be connected to the group.

Join the same group.
Install Tailscale, join the group’s private network, and paste your Kraken invitation in Settings. Choose the folder containing your MP3 files.

Choose a channel and host.
A participant with the bot token chooses a voice channel and clicks Become host. Only one computer sends audio at a time.

Build the queue and press play.
Tracks appear in batches while the library loads. You can connect before scanning finishes. Select tracks and add them to the queue.

An embedded ID keeps the connection to the source video when a filename changes. Older filenames with the ID in brackets are also recognized.
Import what is missing.
The same video is skipped when its file is still in the folder. Different videos have different IDs, even when they feature the same song.

Do I need to install Python or FFmpeg?
No. The installer includes what Kraken needs to run and prepare audio. Tailscale is configured separately to connect the group’s computers.
Does the bot stay online when everyone closes the app?
No. Audio requires a connected host that is running. The coordinator must also stay online to keep the group available. It can run on a different computer.
Does everyone need the Discord token?
Only participants who want to host need the token, provided by the bot administrator. Other participants can join with the group invitation and share their music.
Does Kraken download audio from Spotify?
Spotify supplies authorized metadata. Kraken uses the artist and title to search for matches on YouTube. The recording may differ. Spotify authorization is configured inside the app.
What happens when a session ends?
When everyone disconnects from the app and no host remains, the queue is cleared. MP3 files are kept. Leaving only the voice channel while keeping the app connected does not end the group.
Can I use the same folder as Music Sync?
Yes. Kraken recognizes the video ID in the YOUTUBE_VIDEO_ID tag. Files without an ID use a content-based identifier; the original video cannot be inferred from the song title alone.
